Calm in Chaos Session at Leysdown Beach Hut As part of Sheppey Matters Legacy project which supports those experiencing isolation and loneliness on the Isle of Sheppey, the Calm in Chaos mindfulness session at Leysdown beach hut offered a peaceful and restorative experience for all who attended.
Set against the gentle rhythm of the waves and accompanied by the natural beauty of poetry, the session created a soothing ambiance ideal for calm, grounding, relaxation, and meditation. Complementing this were therapeutic sound tools, including rain sticks, Tibetan singing bowls, cleansing bells and calming frog sounds, these act as a natural symphony, transporting participants to a place of serenity and connection with nature. These elements worked harmoniously to deepen the meditative atmosphere, helping individuals reconnect with themselves and find stillness amidst the noise of daily life.
Participant feedback reflected the powerful impact of the session:
“I had a really enjoyable morning, thank you to everyone for all your hard work.”
“We had a wonderful time, felt very chilled and found inner calm”
The session beautifully embodied the aims of the Legacy Project using nature, mindfulness, and community connection to help alleviate loneliness and promote well-being. Moments like these remind us that calm can be found even in the chaos, especially when shared together.
