Getting to Grips with ADHD
The Leader of Getting to Grips with ADHD, Beverley Nolker is a qualified educator, ADHD and Executive Function Coach and advocate with DTLLS, QTLS, CALC and NLPP accreditations. She brings both professional expertise and lived experience of ADHD and autism to her work with adults, families, and communities across Sheppey and surrounding areas.
Through Sheppey Matters, Beverley designs and delivers workshops, support groups, and training programmes that provide education, empowerment and practical strategies. Her sessions help families understand and manage the challenges of ADHD and autism, while creating safe spaces for adults to share experiences, build resilience, and develop confidence in their daily lives through monthly support groups.
Her approach is grounded in evidence-based practice, compassion and a commitment to inclusion. By combining her academic background with her lived experience, Beverley reduces isolation, strengthens family wellbeing and builds community-wide awareness of neurodiversity.
Beverley’s work with Sheppey Matters has already created a ripple effect—empowering individuals, supporting families, and creating a stronger, more resilient local community in the realms of Neurodiversity.
Fourteen years ago Beverley founded the award-winning community group – ADHD Sheppey – creating a safe and supportive space for children, adults and families living with ADHD and other neurodivergent conditions. Families that take part in the ‘Getting to Grips with ADHD’ project are welcome to join ADHD Sheppey for continued support on their neurodivergent journey.
Through workshops, support groups and one-to-one sessions, Beverley has helped families better understand ADHD, discover practical strategies that make daily life easier and build confidence in themselves and their children.
