Young People Matter (formerly Rural Youth)

At Young People Matter, we believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive. We support young people with neurodiversity across the Isle of Sheppey to take part in inspiring, community-based activities that build confidence and connections.

Our approach is inclusive, dynamic, and person-centred. We celebrate individuality and ensure that all our young people feel valued, respected, and encouraged.
We provide a safe and welcoming environment where young people can explore their interests, develop new skills and enjoy positive experiences alongside their peers. Whether it’s creative projects, sports, volunteering or social events, our programmes are designed to help young people make the most of every opportunity.

The Difference We Make

  • Confidence & Wellbeing – young people report feeling happier, more confident and less isolated
  • Skills for Life – practical experience that supports education, training and employment pathways
  • Inclusive Communities – reducing stigma and promoting understanding of neurodiversity
  • Family & Community Benefits – stronger relationships, safer neighbourhoods, and positive role models

With Your Support We Can:

  • Reach more young people in rural and disadvantaged areas
  • Expand our creative, sporting and volunteering programmes
  • Offer training and mentoring to develop future leaders

Together, we’re working to create a community where all young people are empowered to reach their potential and feel a true sense of belonging.
