Rev Up & Reset Brings Men Together for a Night of Health, Connection and Community

Sheppey Matters recently hosted Rev Up & Reset, a free men’s health rally at IslandWorks Dockyard Church, designed to engage local men in a relaxed, approachable environment while opening conversations around wellbeing.
The event was intentionally framed as a social evening with a purpose. Featuring a hog roast, racing simulators, a prize pot and themed “pit stop” zones, Rev Up & Reset offered a fresh way to explore men’s health — removing formality and creating space for natural conversation.
Participants were able to engage with different elements of the men’s health journey, including physical wellbeing, lifestyle choices, mental health, stress management and access to local support. The flexible format allowed attendees to move freely between activities and conversations, choosing what felt relevant to them without pressure or expectation.
Feedback from attendees highlighted how accessible and enjoyable the evening felt, with many describing it as “a great night out” that also provided meaningful wellbeing support.
The rally demonstrated the power of community-led approaches to health engagement, showing how informal settings can help break down stigma, encourage connection, and reach individuals who may not typically access traditional services.
Community Partnership at the Heart of Rev Up & Reset
Rev Up & Reset was delivered through strong collaboration between Sheppey Matters, local businesses, wellbeing providers, volunteers and community organisations.
Sheppey Matters would like to recognise the generous support of event sponsors and donors:
Chartway Building Supplies, Clancy, Medichem, Revolution, Beever Enhancement Limited, Sheppey United, Snap Fitness, Sheerness Golf Club, A2 Tyres, SKJ Steel, Oast, and ETCh.
Their contributions supported activities, food, prizes, hands-on wellbeing experiences and essential event costs — demonstrating the vital role local businesses play in strengthening community health.
Additional thanks go to the range of wellbeing partners from charities, community organisations, sports clubs and NHS services who attended, offering guidance, conversations and signposting throughout the evening.
The event was also made possible by the dedication of Sheppey Matters staff and volunteers, whose behind-the-scenes work helped create a welcoming and inclusive space.
Most importantly, Sheppey Matters thanks every man who attended and took part.
Rev Up & Reset reflects Sheppey Matters’ ongoing commitment to delivering accessible, community-led wellbeing initiatives that respond to local need. Building on the success of this event, further programmes supporting men’s health and connection are planned for 2026.
