Community Unites for the Baton of Hope

Residents, volunteers and organisations came together to mark this inspiring event, showing the strength of our local community.

As part of our work at Sheppey Matters, we were proud to join a committed team from Swale Borough Council, the Medway and Swale Health and Care Partnership, and the Baton of Hope Foundation to help bring the Baton of Hope to Sheppey. This visit formed part of the UK’s largest initiative dedicated to suicide prevention.

The day brought together voices from across the community, with many people bravely sharing their stories and offering messages of hope for anyone facing difficult times. It was a powerful reminder of the strength, compassion and unity that exists on our island.
